Prior to purchasing Questica 2000, Konal was using an information system that was designed to provide adequate support for the Company’s accounting and inventory control functions. Our challenge in selecting a new system was to maintain our control of these functions while providing a system that would improve the efficiency of our engineering, purchasing and manufacturing operations.
After evaluating a number of potential solutions we chose Questica 2000 because it is a system that is designed for an engineered to order operation. The other systems that we considered were designed to serve a number of applications such as build to order and build for inventory and while these systems were capable of providing the control that we needed, we felt that they offered the “jack of all trades” solution to our problem. We chose Questica 2000 because it provided the simplest solution.
Questica 2000 has several great features. The key ones for us were the Solid Works add on that allows us to completely download a bill of material from the design program with the click of a button. By using the inventory data we can easily check for stock items and design around these rather than order new. The Itemaster has given us better material descriptions and better control of standard items than we ever had before and the purchasing reports have dramatically improved the ability of our Purchasing Department to order material and expedite delivery.
Questica 2000 has made a big difference in our operations by making us more efficient. It has reduced our cost to manufacture and it has improved our ability to serve our customers. Our customers benefit by reduced cost, better quality service and faster response time.
We have, and would definitely, recommended Questica 2000 to other custom design manufacturers and have already on a number of occasions.
